          Family Camping fun by a lake or river in Bavaria

          When staying at the campsite in Vietach in Bavaria, head just 5 km away to the lovely little Natural Swimming lake in the Spa Park Sankt Englmar in lower Bavaria. It’s a great place for safe swimming with the kids, set in gorgeous surroundings. For natural swimming near campsite Lackenhäuser you’ll have to venture a little further (50 km ) across the border to the Czech Republic, to cool off in the refreshing waters of Lake Lipno. Here you can swim, windsurf, sail or simply relax with a picnic. The nearest recreational lake by the Frickenhausen am Main campsite is a good 125km away. Lake Brombachsee is set in stunning woodland, with excellent facilities.

          Bavaria is a real paradise for lovers of outdoor adventures. There is always something fun for you to do not far from the campsite. Put on your boots and hike your way through lush valleys and fabulous forests. Cyclists are really spoiled with over 113.000 routes crisscrossing the magnificent Bavarian countryside. Water sports lovers take to the lakes to swim, surf, windsurf or canoe. Dare devils head for the hills to enjoy some thrilling paragliding. Looking for something more tranquil? Then go horse riding through beautiful Bavarian landscapes or find a quiet spot near the campsite for some excellent fishing. Then head for Würzburg to admire the Palace of the Prince-Bishops, one of the finest secular Baroque buildings in Germany. Or go to Regensburg with its The Stone Bridge, St. Peter's Church and the Old Town of Regensburg. For that ultimate view go to the top of the Marienberg Fortress and look out over the city. Radio and TV lovers visit Fürth, once the centre for the development of radio and television, with a spectacular broadcasting Museum. Botanists head for Erlangen to fall in love with its sublime 17th century botanical garden.

Admire its beautiful Baroque St. Stephen's Cathedral with the world’s largest cathedral organ. Then enjoy dinner on an enchanting river cruise as the sun sets. Camping in Frickenhausen am Main ? Then visit the lovely town of Bayreuth, where composer Richard Wagner created masterpieces from 1872 to 1883. The Margravial Opera House and the Richard Wagner Museum are a must. For some stunning architecture, stroll through the ancient cobbled lanes of Rothenburg ob der Tauber and be bewitched by the spectacularly well preserved medieval and Renaissance buildings. Beer lovers beware! Bamberg has no less than 10 breweries and its smoked beer is legendary!
