Camping Vestbirk, Østbirk

There is plenty to do on this well organised and well maintained campsite. Vestbirk is surrounded on three sides by the Gundenåen river, perfect for canoeing or fishing. The campsite has a lovely heated swimming pool, sauna, solarium and jacuzzi where you can relax and unwind. There is also plenty to keep the children amused, including a small animal farm, which is situated on site.

The word Gudenåen may look like a name from a book by Tolkein, but it is in fact one of the largest rivers in Denmark which flows through this area to the south of Silkeborg, making it an ideal starting point for canoe trips. The surrounding area is perfect for cycling; try the scenic route to the source of the Gudenåen. You can also visit one of the beautiful inland lakes along the coast of Jylland, or take a trip to Himmelbjerget, one of the highest peaks in Denmark, and take in the breathtaking views. For the children a trip to Legoland is a must. The park in Billund is a fun day out for the whole family. Here you can marvel at the spectacular models built with over 45 million Lego bricks. The bustling cities of Aarhus and Copenhagen can also be easily reached by car.
