Between Lyon and the French Alps there's an area where large and small lakes alternate with green valleys. The most well-known is Lake Annecy but the Lac du Bourget is far bigger. However to the south west there's a smaller lake, the Lac d'Aiguebelette. It's France's warmest lake and, with its pleasant beaches, it makes a perfect choice for families with children. Even further south west there's another beautiful lake, the Lac de Paladru with lovely beaches and lots of water activities.
