Camping Lac des Vieilles Forges, Les Mazures

Camping Lac des Vieilles Forges is a long, narrow campsite in the middle of a forest, only 100m from the Vieilles Forges lake.

Why camping Lac des Vieilles Forges?
  • You'll find a safe, pleasant sandy beach with play apparatus where the entire family can have hours of fun. The swimming area is separated from the rest of the lake where the sailing boats and surfers take to the water and there's a lifeguard in high season. You can also rent a boat or canoe.
  • A popular activity is the pétanque tournament.
  • Every morning the baker delivers freshly baked bread.
  • A few miles away is an 'accrobranche', a very popular and exciting track that runs a few metres above ground amongst the treetops. It's a great experience for all ages and it's safe as you are linked to the track by a steel wire.

The surrounding area of camping Lac des Vieilles Forges, Les Mazures

The Lacs de Vieilles Forges is a lake in the basin of the river Meuse, close to the spot where the Semois river meets the main stream. This section of northern France is completely covered by the Foret d'Ardennes - a beautiful nature reserve. The winding road beside the Semois river is especially beautiful, as is the Meuse valley.

Some tips for your holiday at camping Lac des Vieilles Forges in Les Mazures:
  • The three large rocks beside the river, close to Revin that are called 'Les Dames de Meuse' are most peculiar and well worth a look.
  • For the children Saint Laurent zoo is a good idea for a day trip.
  • Visit Charleville-Mézièrs, a pleasant city that spans the Meuse river with parts on both shores, one of which has an historic city centre. The city is well-known for its puppet shows.
