- Visit the aquaduct near Briare. This is where ships in the Canal Latéral sail over the Loire river. Nearby there's a spot for a great view of this strange occurrence.
- As you would expect, there are plenty of châteaux close by. Saint Brisson, Gien or Sully-sur-Loire are all good examples.
- In Gien there's also an interesting pottery museum.
