Camping Domaine Elysée, Le Grau-du-Roi

A campsite situated along the road that runs between Le Grau-de-Roi and the massive l'Espiguette beach, which is around 1km away. The Port Carmargue yacht harbour is only 500m away. Beach and water sports are what it's all about at this modern campsite, which has excellent facilites. How about an Olympic-size swimming pool, a pleasant children's pool, a solarium, a covered sports hall, an open air theatre and a choice of tennis and jeu de boules? Children will enjoy the mini golf and the play area. Naturally there's a good restaurant and a pleasant bar as well. The entertainment as a whole is well organised and includes a good discotheque. Domaine Elysée is a perfect base for an enjoyable Mediterranean holiday.

The surrounding area of camping Domaine Elysée, Le Grau-du-Roi

Where the Rhône river meets the Mediterranean Sea, a fantastic area of natural beauty grew between Montpellier and Arles, complete with marshlands, creeks and endless sandy beaches. Back in 1970 this area was officially named a regional nature park, covering an area of 750km2. To the west you will find old cities like the 13th century Aigues-Mortes (city of the dead waters) and Le Grau-du-Roi with its characteristic lighthouse and friendly harbour-side bars. As a contrast, the modern La Grande Motte was built with its futuristic buildings and lively water sports centre. Port Carmargue also has many facilties for private yachts and is a pleasant place to sit and watch all manner of vessels passing by. Don't forget to visit the long sands of l'Espiguette beach and the bustling cities of Nîmes and Montpellier.
