The campsite:
Camping les Saules is a well maintained campsite run by a friendly and enthusiastic French family. During your stay you will be able to sample the local cuisine at the campsite restaurant. The restaurant has a cosy terrace with both a covered and open-air area. It is here you will be able to enjoy a delicious meal prepared with the local produce. You can even order your bread in the evening, which will be delivered fresh the next morning. Activities on the campsite include mini golf and table tennis and both are free of charge. Or you may like to take a walk in the beautiful area surrounding the campsite. In high season excursions can be arranged for horse riding and hot air ballooning, and for the golfers amongst you there is an 18-hole course just opposite les Saules. Cycle hire is available at the campsite reception and is free of charge in low season for one day for a maximum of five people providing you are staying for a minimum of six nights. On arrival at the campsite you must make the staff aware of which day you would like to take advantage of this special offer.

The surrounding area:
The road that takes you to Camping les Saules is very picturesque, offering a glimpse of the lovely château of Cheverny in the distance. This is one of the most well known châteaux in the Loire Valley and it was actually used in the stories of Tintin. The surrounding area of the campsite is beautiful and ideally situated to visit some of the famous châteaux of the Loire Valley including Chambord, Blois, Troussay and Villesavin. A pleasant way to spend the day is a cycle ride through the vineyards where there are great views of this beautiful region, which is famous for its wine and goats cheese.
