Camping Adria, Ankaran
Just over the Italian/Slovenian border there's camping Adria, on the sunny part of the Milje peninsula. You can get there via the Skofije border crossing, or maybe take the easier crossing at Lazaret.
Why camping Adria?- On this elongated campsite that stretches along the Adriatic Sea you will find excellent facilities. Among them is a swimming pool (salt water) of Olympic dimensions and a shallow pool for the kids.
- The pleasant climate provides a lush vegetation with cypresses, bay trees and olive groves.
- Apart from sunbathing on the campsite's own (pebble) beach you can enjoy swimming, snorkelling or fishing.

The surrounding area of camping Adria, Ankaran
Part of the Slovenian coast is the pleasant peninsula of Milje. This well sheltered piece of coastline is perfect to combine a beach holiday to some culture. The Italian history of this part of Slovenia is still present in many places. Good examples are the villages of Koper, Piran, Izola and Portoroz, which has to be visited by boat.
Some tips for your holiday at camping Adria in Ankaran:- A beautiful building is the Adria Hotel that used to be the Benedictine Monastery of Saint Nicolaj. Later is was occupied by the noble Medonizza family.
- You can visit Lipica, with its famous stud farm of the Lipizzaner horses.
- The caves of Postojna and Skocjan are worth a day trip.
- Walkers will love exploring the Slovenian forests.
