Camping De Kiekduun, Buren

This is Vacansoleil's top campsite on the Wadden isles. Camping De Kiekduun is located amongst the dunes, on the road from Buren to the beach.

Why camping De Kiekduun?
  • The shops and terraces of Nes and Buren are within walking distance, but the campsite's shop has a wide range of products, including souvenirs.
  • There's a children's playground at the back of the campsite.
  • The campsite's American themed restaurant is call 'Neighbours'. A good choice of name given that 'Buren' means neighbours in Dutch.
  • The beach is 500m away.

The surrounding area of camping De Kiekduun, Buren

The small isle of Ameland has only a few villages, but Buren is the most pleasant. By choosing Ameland you choose the magic of the Wadden and the lovely views over the Wadden countryside. Believe it or not, Ameland has the most hours of sun out of all the places in the Netherlands. You can only reach Ameland by ferry. If you want to take the car you will have to book the ferry tickets in advance. Alternatively, you can park your car in the ferry car park in Holwerd.

Some tips for your holiday at camping De Kiekduun in Buren:
  • Explore the island by bike. You can rent bikes everywhere and then just follow the path through the forest, dunes and the four villages on the island. Buren is located on the eastern edge.
  • It's a great feeling to walk along the wide beach with the salty wind in your hair.
