Campsites for recreational cycling in France
Almost 400 kilometers of cycle trails can be found in this area. All safe and well-marked routes. The Loire Valley has been well-known for its beauty for decades and was often praised by painters, poets and kings. The cycling routes take you beside beautiful châteaux and dense forests.
Normandy is a great place to cycle, but quite heavy going too on occasion. This is a region with a great history. Very impressive to discover by bike, touring along incredible cliffs or the long sandy beaches.
Brittany is very bike friendly with over 800km of landscaped paths and numerous routes over hunting trails, old railways or quiet paths. With a coastline of 1500km you will easily find a nice picnic spot with great views.
With the Atlantic ocean on its doorstep, the Vendée offers beautiful beaches and pretty seaside resorts. However there are also a lot of marshlands, such as the Marais Poitevin. Lovely cycling routes take you through what is nicknamed 'the Venice of France'. Alternatively you can visit the Marais on a traditional flat, wooden boat.
A beautiful and flat cycling area with in total at least 600 km cycling paths. You can enjoy cycling along dunes, beaches and the Arcachon bay. Further inland you'll find the wine fields of the Médoc wines.
