Driving the family to your campsite can be very enjoyable but, when your holiday destination is far away, it may be a good idea to break up the journey. Even if you make regular stops along the way, it’s easy to become over-tired and the safety of your family is paramount. Vacansoleil therefore offers you the option of hotel stopovers where the whole family can enjoy a good night’s sleep in an economical, yet comfortable, hotel. Complete with a safe parking space for your car, a refreshing shower and a comfortable bed. After a well-deserved night’s sleep you can continue on your travels and arrive at your campsite fully refreshed and ready to start your holiday.

Germany

Hotel Dolomit, Munich
Centrally situated in the Munich inner city but still easily accessible. Secure parking is available next to the hotel (€ 14 per day). The interesting Munich pedestrianised area is on your doorstep and has many street cafés where you can enjoy a relaxing drink after a long day's drive. The Munich central railway station is just 200 meters from the hotel. All rooms have a shower and toilet, TV and telephone. The windows have been specially designed to allow fresh air in but not the street noise. Non-smoking rooms are available. You may use all facilities of the adjoining Best Western Cristal Hotel including its friendly bar. Next morning, after an enjoyable breakfast to set you up for the day, you'll be ready to start the final leg of your journey.

Prices are per room, per night and include breakfast.
Pets allowed at no charge.

NB. Please note that the car park will accept cars with small luggage trailers but caravans and collapsible caravans are not permitted.

Switzerland

Hotel Egerkingen, Olten
Located in an ideal spot, near the crossing of the major Swiss north-south and east-west connections A1 and A2. This gives excellent accessibility from the Basel-Luzern road and the Bern-Biel road too. It used to be a well-known motel but is now a full service hotel, including a restaurant and bar with multi-lingual staff. It is open from 6.00 am until 22.00 and there is free parking next to the hotel. There is also a playground for children. A number of rooms have been adapted especially for families with children.

Family room 1 will accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years old.*
Family room 2 will accommodate 4 adults.*
Pets are allowed at an additional fee.

* An extra bed can be placed in family rooms 1 and 2 at an additional fee of €20.00. Please be aware for a bed to be placed in family room 1 there must be a minimum of two children under the age of twelve in the party.

Accor hotels in Europe

Vacansoleil can book an overnight stay for you in one of the Accor hotels. The Accor hotel chain operates worldwide and has more than 4,000 hotels in nearly 100 countries. Many of these are situated beside the main holiday routes throughout Europe, giving you a wide choice when travelling to your holiday destination.  For example,  Accor hotels are to be found in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy. The Accor hotel chain owns Novotel, Ibis, Mercure, Etap and Formule 1 hotels. The Novotels are ideal for an overnight stay for families with young children. They often have colourful play areas and the restaurants offer a wide choice of healthy children's meals.

The "Novation" style rooms accommodate two adults and two children. If the children are under 16 years old they can sleep in their parents room and will not be charged for bed and breakfast.

 

There are no set prices for the Accor hotels hotels as facilities can differ at each. If you prefer something basic then the Formule 1 hotels are ideal. Here you will pay between £23 and £46 per night for a room.

 

The Etap, Ibis and All Seasons hotels offer more comfort and will charge a price per room of between £45 and £92. The price per night in a Novotel or Mercure hotel is between £64 and £110.
