A common misconception among people who haven’t been to Brittany is that it has a harsh jagged coastline full of rugged rocks and no sandy beaches. Yes, there are rocks. They give this region the mysterious atmosphere. However, Brittany is also home to gorgeous, sandy beaches. 5* Iris Parc Le Ty Nadan is only a 20 minute drive from the resort town of Guidel Plages. Here you will find two lovely sandy bays where you can get surfing lessons, a beautiful marina and charming shops.
Wining and dining … in South Brittany
Wining and dining in South Brittany is a truly delicious experience. With its coastal location, fish and seafood featuring heavily in the local diet. It is hard to find another destination where they taste better. For those of you who aren’t fans of fish there are plenty of other options in most restaurants in the region. A firm favourite for kids visiting the region is the Breton pancake which is a Brittany specialty. Brittany is not a wine region, but you are in France so good wine is always at hand.

At Ty Nadan you will find two exciting climbing courses: one for children and one for experienced brave climbers, a cable car which spans across the river, the longest abseil track in Brittany, canoes, Segways and quads, climbing wall and much more.
The River Elle
The beautiful River Ellé, which winds peacefully alongside Le Ty Nadan campsite provides hours of fun for the whole family. The Elle is teeming with wild salmon and trout. A perfect catch for an evening BBQ in Le Ty Nadan. The river is perfect for swimming or for those that are feeling much more adventurous, you can take a canoeing trip and the campsite will pick you at a designated point down-stream when you’re done.

…We love Southern Brittany. To us, it is the perfect family holiday destination for all the reasons we have listed above and many more that we haven’t even mentioned. It is very easy to travel there with ferry crossings directly from the UK each week. A number of airports in the region are also served by flights from the UK.
