Some tips for your holiday at Lac de Miel in Beynat

  • The loveliest spot in the region is right on your doorstep! The marvellous Lac De Miel. Spend a wonderful day by the lake swimming, whizzing down waterslides, exploring the waters on a pedalo and simply relaxing on the lovely, sandy beach. For that perfect afternoon make sure you bring a picnic!
  • Want a delightful day out close to the campsite? Then hop on a bike and ride the 5km to Beynat. Wander around this charming, quaint village and admire the century old handicraft skills of straw bag weaving. Tip: go on Tuesday evening and you can visit the farmers market and buy delicious fresh local produce to enjoy back by the lake.
  • Fancy a little culture, some shopping and a tasty lunch at a terraced restaurant? Then head for the town of Brive-la-Gaillarde , just 25km away. Don’t forget to visit the Denoix distillery, where they make that perfect after dinner liqueur.
  • Take a trip back in time at the magnificent medieval town of Tulle (20km). Walk the narrow streets of the old part of the capital of Corrèze and admire the amazing ancient architecture, such as the 12th century cathedral. Music fans pay a visit to Maison Maugein, France's oldest accordion manufacturer, to learn all about these immensely popular instruments.
  • Thrill seekers go to Argentat (19km) to Canoe down the river Dordogne. This lovely town is where the 'Gorges de la Dordogne' begins and routes vary from flat water to wild rapids to suit all levels of canoeists.
  • Hikers are in heaven here with lots of pleasant walking routes around the lake. Set off from the campsite and spend an active day with the family ambling around the stunning countryside!
  • Enjoy a good glass of wine? Then you’re in the right spot. For a fascinating afternoon visit the Domaine de la Gardelle Vineyard in Saint-Julien-Maumont ( 20km). Learn all about organic wine making, have a great time tasting and don’t forget to bring a few bottles to enjoy back at the campsite!
