Camping Les Pêcheurs

Camping Les Pêcheurs is a basic three-star campsite in the Jura, set close to the River Ain. It’s surrounded by lush green countryside and is a real haven for those looking for a peaceful holiday in the middle of some wonderful nature. It’s popular with families who enjoy the more simple type of camping. Kids swim in the pool or cool off in the river and families have amazing adventures kayaking together on the River Ain. The perfect spot to relax and explore the lakes and waterfalls of the beautiful Jura.

  • Everywhere you look, you’re surrounded by lush, green countryside. It’s a real green oasis here.
  • It’s so quiet here. Time to relax and really unwind.
  • Splash about in the swimming pool. Little ones have their own special kids pool. Alternatively stroll down to the river to cool off!
  • Feeling active? Head for the multi-sports court for a game of football or basketball. For something a little less energetic play some table tennis or the typically French Pétanque.
  • Fancy a little adventure? Hire a canoe or kayak and have a fun day on the river with all the family.
  • The kids have the time of their lives here and the great outdoors is their ultimate playground.
  • Feeling hungry? There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the village, just a 200m stroll away. In July and August the baker will be at the campsite, making sure there's fresh bread and rolls for your breakfast!

Some tips for your holiday at Camping Les Pêcheurs in Pont-de-Poitte

  • For a fun day out very close by you don’t have to go far. Stroll down to the River Ain just outside the campsite. Pack a picnic, relax by the water and enjoy a lovely time with all the family.
  • Feel like a day of shopping and culture? Then head for the capital town of Jura Lons-le-Saunier. Visit the house of famous composer Rouget de Lisle, who wrote the French National anthem La Marseillaise, drop into the Fine Arts museum, then indulge in a bit of retail therapy before enjoying a long, lazy lunch.
  • Alternatively pamper yourself with a complete day of relaxation at one of the many thermal baths the town is famous for. Treat yourself to a spot of hydrotherapy and return to your campsite feeling utterly rejuvenated.
  • For fun in the water by a lovely lake head for Clairvaux-les-Lacs (5km) or travel a little further to Lac de Chalain (18km). Both lakes have supervised beaches and good facilities for a fabulous time for all the family.
  • On your way back to the campsite from Lake Chalain take a short 5km detour to admire the majesty of the incredibly beautiful Cascades du Hérisson waterfalls (17km). The perfect spot for those amazing holiday snaps.
  • For something really unique go to the mysterious caves of Baume at Baume-les-Messieurs (21km) . Discover a whole new world deep underground and marvel at the stunning formations formed down in the centre of the earth. Simply breathtaking!
  • Don’t mind venturing a little further? Then the Swiss lakeside city of Geneva is a 90 minute drive away. Explore the old town and admire the 12th century St. Pierre’s Cathedral . Stroll down the Place du Bourg-de-Four lined with cafés and boutique shops. Take a boat trip around the lake. Then end the day with a tasty fondue at Bains des Pâquis as the sun sinks into the water.
