Lake Annecy is right by your campsite. It’s one of France’s largest lakes and the cleanest in Western Europe. Relax, swim , dive, do water sports, go boating or simply lie down on one of the beaches and do nothing at all! Lake Annecy has several marvelous beaches along its stunning shoreline. Menthon Saint Bernard, Talloires, Veyrier-du-Lac and Sevrier to name but a few. Fancy splashing about in France’s biggest natural glacial lake? Then head for Lac du Bourget by Aix-le-Bains. This wonderful lake is surrounded by snow- capped mountains and lush green hills. Spend the morning cooling yourself in the crystal clear waters of this lovely lake, then do down to the fishing port of Aix-les-Bains or Bourget-du-Lac, to enjoy the freshest fish lunch you’ll ever taste, accompanied by some truly breathtaking views.

Lake Annecy is known as the European capital of outdoor activities, with endless opportunities for active fun close to the campsite. Lake Annecy itself is of course water sports heaven. Swim in the clean, clear waters and try your hand at paddle boating, wind surfing or sailing. Canoe across the lovely lake or for a more leisurely time jump onboard a pedalo and explore the lake. Cyclists can enjoy a relaxing ride around the lake and the more ambitious can tackle the steep cols, such as the Tour de France route of Le Semnoz. The surrounding mountains are great for hiking, climbing and mountain biking. For the more daring there’s caving, bungee jumping, tree top adventures and paragliding. City trip near your campsite in Lake Annecy
Annecy is the main city on the lake and only 18 km from your campsite. This beautiful city is known as the Venice of the Alps due to its lovely canals. Visit the picturesque medieval castle and prison Palais de l'Isle, the magnificent Château d'Annecy and the delightfully romantic Pont des Amours. Want to really relax? The head for the spa town of Aix les Bains on Lake Bourget . It’s just a 30 minute drive from your campsite and full of fascinating historical sights, such as the Roman Temple of Diana. Art lovers go to Chambery to The Musée des Beaux-Arts or to the municipal museum of Fine Arts in Grenobles to enjoy the stunning masterpieces on display. Then take the Bubble shaped cable car to the top of La Bastille Hill and visit the 18th-century fortress there. When camping by Lake Annecy, a trip to Geneva is a must. Head into the old town to see the 1000 year old Saint Peter’s Cathedral, then have lunch in the sublime surroundings by the beautiful lake.

Make sure you stop at The Sea of Ice, France’s largest glacier. Feeling active? Then bike around Lake Annecy and see the pretty villages of Saint-Jorioz Duingt and Veyrier-du-Lac. Drop into Talloires, one of the most beautiful villages in France. It’s also a hotspot for paragliders. Want to combine a boat trip on Lake Annecy with an excellent lunch or dinner? Then hop onboard a restaurant boat for a truly delightful experience. For a birds eye view of the lake go to the wonderful 13th century Chateau, which sits high above the pretty village of Menthon Saint Bernard. Want to witness one of the natural wonders of the Alps?
