Campsite information
Camping Le Rompval
A few kilometres south of the Somme estuary, the river Bresle also meets the sea. Between the two are the seaside resorts of Ault, Le Treport and the lesser known Mers-les-Bains. The latter is where campsite Le Rompval is located, not far from the beach. At high tide there is only a small pebble beach, but low tide changes the scenery completely into a large sandy plain where seals regularly find a place to sunbathe.
Recommended by our region specialist
"A very well presented, small campsite close to beaches and high whte cliffs. Traditional seaside resort from the Belle Epoque with nature, castles and fresh seafood all on hand."
The surrounding area of Le Rompval
At the Somme estuary the dune-lined coast of the north changes into high, white chalk cliffs. During the Belle Epoque times this was the place where the rich spent time at the beach. Today, the beach is for everyone.
