Camping by the beautiful San Marino countryside: The National Park of the Casentino Forests, The Parco Delta of Po Emilia-Romagna and Park of Sasso Simone and Simoncello.

Not far from the campsite in San Marino, you’ll find 4991 hectares of the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Park. This fabulous faunistic park has some truly stunning countryside and is home to deer, wild goats, boar and the famous golden eagle. It’s the perfect place for a lovely family walk and a great spot for children to learn more about nature. Also close by is the National Park of the Casentino Forests. One of Europe’s oldest forests and an imposing woodland area which houses boar, deer, mountain sheep, falcons, woodpeckers, salamanders and the extremely rare Apennine wolf. Go on an organized nature tour and discover the fascinating secrets of this magical place. Prefer your countryside with a little more water? Then head for the wetlands of the Parco Delta of Po Emilia-Romagna. This amazing delta nature reserve is home to over 300 species of bird, such as rare wild geese, the white heron and the Pink Flamingo. Spend the day exploring this magnificent eco-system, which will both intrigue and entertain the whole family.

San Marino city is the country’s capital and the cultural highlight of any camping holiday here. This picturesque medieval town houses the beautiful Basilica di San Marino and the majestic Three Towers of San Marino, that rest on the peaks of Monte Titano. San Leo is smaller and less touristic, but is home to the impressive 12th century San Leo Cathedral. A gorgeous, sandstone example of Lombard-Romanesque style architecture. Ravenna is a real treasure for art and architecture. Famed for the exquisite and colourful mosaics which adorn the octagonal Basilica di San Vitale, the 6th-century Basilica di Sant'Apollinare Nuovo and the cross-shaped Mausoleo di Galla Placidia. It also houses the tomb of Dante Alighieri, author of The Divine Comedy. For real art lovers Urbino is a must see. Its Palazzo Ducale, contains the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche and one of the most important collections of Renaissance paintings in the world, including its most famous son, the painter Raphael. Historians head for Cesena to marvel at the monastery of Abbey of St Maria del Monte. A 1000 year old Benedicine masterpiece.

Camping In San Marino means you’re never far from the sea. Some spectacular beaches await you, just a short drive away. Rimini is the most well- known and popular seaside resort. With big, broad stretches of sand and a hedonistic hustle and bustle. For a more tranquil pace, head for Bellaria and the beaches of Igea Marina. 7 kilometres of fine, golden sand, ideal for a great family day out at the beach. If you prefer private beaches with comprehensive facilities, then visit Riccione’s Playa del Sol resort. A magical affair, with a pool, restaurant, entertainment, a spa and even a kids club to keep the little ones entertained. The beaches at Cattolica are also perfect for families with small children. The sea slopes gently here and the beaches are protected by breakers, keeping the sea very calm. For a taste of classic Italian seaside pleasure, visit Pesaro. It has gorgeous golden sands, colourful beach huts and great beach facilities. All set to a lush green hilly back ground, that inspired Rossini to compose his masterpieces. After a great day at the beach, hop down to Piazza del Popolo and relax at one of the superb cafés for a refreshing drink and a tasty bite to eat.

During a camping holiday in San Marino, you are really spoilt when looking for great days out for all the family. When holidaying with younger children, visit the excellent Fiabilandia amusement park in Rimini. This seaside theme park has some superb rides, water games & a delicious seafood buffet restaurant. Ever wondered what Italy would look like if you shrunk it? Drop in at Italia in Miniatura in the Viserba part of Rimini. The park has 273 miniatures of famous Italian buildings. For the perfect view of the San Marino area, take the cable car up to Monte Titano. The surrounding landscape will take your breath away! Looking to combine some fun with a little bit of history? Then take a trip through time at the Wax Museum of San Marino, which depicts historical figures through the ages.

Racing fans are in for a treat here in San Marino. Not far from the campsite, at the foot of Mount Titano lies the Maranello Rosso Ferrari Museum. This Vintage Car Museum houses a remarkable collection of cars from the Formula 1 era, including the first Ferrari Spyder and famous cars owned by Enzo Ferrari and Marilyn Monroe. Real Ferrari fans head for Imola, just an hour’s drive away, to see the famous old F1 Ferrari racing circuit. Visit the fabulous museum which takes you on a trip through the history of motor racing. For the ultimate Ferrari experience, drive one of these race monsters around this thrilling circuit!
