The glamping adventure at the end of the world, between the Wadden Sea and large spaces! Welcome to the domain Botterheerd, an authentic organic farm nestled all north of the Netherlands. Driven with passion, this farm is dedicated to the breeding of cows of old breeds and sheep, with full respect for biodiversity. Without electricity or Wi-Fi in your accommodation, you cut dramatically with daily stress to find the magic of candle-lit evenings and meals simmered at the wood fire. - The Small Animals Club : The farm houses tender lambs (depending on the season), curious goats and rabbits that children love to brush and cuddle every day.
- Natural adventure land : away from cars, the estate offers total freedom. Children spend their days climbing on straw bales, building cabins or exploring the farm's surroundings on pedal karts.
- Les Logements Tentes (Cottages): superb high-end canvas tents with rustic charm. They have real comfortable beds (including the famous wooden bed-enclosures that the children tear off), a warm seating area, private toilets and an authentic cast iron wood stove.
- Life without electricity: to disconnect for good, no accommodation is connected to the electricity grid. From dusk, oil lanterns and candles are lit, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere out of time.
- The farm pantry (Honesty Shop): a small self-service shop accessible 24 hours a day. There are fresh eggs from the morning, organic products from the farm, local meat and tasty specialities from Groningen Province.
- Common sanitary facilities of standing with hot showers available near tents.
- La Mer des Wadden (a few minutes away): climb the dike to admire this unique landscape in the world. It is the ideal starting point for magnificent walks or bikes along the water, or to get started at the Wadlopen (guided hike on the low tide vase).
- Appingedam (10 min): a charming historic town famous for its "suspension kitchens" (hangende keukens) above the canals, its medieval alleys and welcoming terraces.
- Delfzijl (10 min): a dynamic port town with its fine sandy beach, ideal for watching large ships pass or take an iodized break with family.
- Groningen (Groningen) (30 min): the regional capital, a vibrant university city with its colourful markets, its famous Martini tower and its museum of modern art with bold architecture.
- The pleasure of slow cooking: the cast iron wood stove is the heart of the tent. It serves both to warm you up during cool evenings and to cook. Boiling coffee water or cooking dinner takes a little patience and know-how... it's the real secret of a watchless holiday!
- Recharging devices: Secure power outlets are available in the farm's central building to charge your phones or external batteries if necessary.
- Your four-legged companions are allowed on prior request to also enjoy the long walks on the northern dikes.
