    Some tips for your holiday at Camping Hoge Kempen in Zutendaal

    • Leave your shoes behind at the campsite and explore the region barefoot. In Lieteberg you’ll find the best barefoot path in Flanders. Feel sand, water, stones and mud between your toes. Wander through this with your family. The kids love it here!
    • Feel like building sand castles? Take a trip to the natural swimming lake with sandy beach at Recreatiepark De Plas, 21 kilometres from the campsite.
    • Fancy a day full of culture and shopping? Genk is 8 kilometres away and the bustling city of Maastricht is 16 kilometres from the campsite. The gigantic outlet centre of Maasmechelen lies 20 kilometres away. End your day with a trip to the Jenever Museum in Hasselt. Don’t forget to buy a bottle of this famous juniper gin to take back to the campsite.
    • A tip for what to do in Genk: bike through the water. Go cycling on a sunken bike path that cuts straight through the lakes of De Wijers in Bokrijk keeping the water at eye level. Also fun for kids in Genk: the open air museum Bokrijk. Here they can bake bread the old fashioned way, play old traditional games and go wild on unique playing equipment.
    • Alternatively go ‘rail biking’ on an old railway track. Bike together from Munsterbilzen to Gellik!
    • Looking for fun for the kids? The amusement park Plopsa Indoor Hasselt is just 20 minutes away and has more than 25 attractions. Older kids have the time of their lives in the indoor go-kart track in Genk. Kids of all ages love going on a journey of discovery at the marvellous planetarium, the Cosmodrome Kattevennen.
