Some tips for your holiday at Camping Oaza Resort Sarajevo in Sarajevo

  • Sarajevo is a mix of cultures and religions, ancient streets and modern suburbs, mosques and bazaars, beautiful and raw buildings, neighborhoods full of street art and walls with bullet holes. Culture lover, history freak or explorer: a visit will stay with you!
  • In the Old Town (Baščaršija) you descend centuries in time. Wander through cobbled streets and past Ottoman coffee houses. Feed the birds on Pigeon Square and browse the bazaar where you can buy absolutely anything.
  • From the inner city, take the funicular to Mount Trebevic where you have a beautiful view of Sarajevo. Stroll to the bobsled run of the 1984 Winter Olympics. During the Civil War, this became a battleground for snipers and artillery. Now is a memory of a dark time overgrown by colorful graffiti. A surreal sight. Bring your camera.
  • Another panorama hotspot: Zuta Tabija, the yellow fortress 13 kilometers from the campsite. The view is stunning.
  • The river Bosna rises just outside the city, in the park-like forest of Vrelo Bosne. The water splashes, the trees rustle, the open-air cafes hum. Wonderful place to relax just 3 kilometers from the campsite.
  • On the bridge Latinski Most you are standing in a historical place. Here on June 28, 1914, the Austrian heir to the throne Frans Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were shot dead by the Serbian activist Gavrilo Princip. The double murder that would radically change the map of Europe. Tensions between various states rose and resulted in mutual declarations of war. The First World War was a fact. Relive these turbulent times in the Sarajevo Museum.
  • Sarajevo roses are everywhere in the city. No real flowers, but painted specimens on walls and paving stones, where someone lost their life during the civil war.
  • Impressive: the Tunnel Museum. During the Bosnian Serb War, this 760-meter-long underground tunnel was the only way to get in and out of the city.
  • Nearest airport: Sarajevo (SJJ) at 4 km
  • Bus station: 0,3 km
  • Area: flat
  • Nearest city/village: 0,1 km
  • Supermarket: 0,2 km
