Camping Plitvice

Camping Plitvice is located in the backyard of the natural wonder of Croatia: Plitvice National Park. The emerald green lakes and splashing waterfalls are so close that you put on your hiking boots time and time again. After each hike you can completely relax at the campsite. Under a tree, by the pool, on your porch. Or at the table with a view in the stylish restaurant.

The surrounding of Camping Plitvice

Camping Plitvice is located close to the village of Smoljanac, only three kilometres from the entrance of Plitvice National Park. This UNESCO world heritage park looks like the setting of a Disney movie: 90 waterfalls, 16 lakes in magic green blue colours, mountains and valleys where winding wooden footpaths take you along and over the water. Because the park is so close, you can visit it at dawn, before the crowds arrive.

Recommended by our region specialist

"You can't get any closer to the Plitvice Falls. The campsite is located near the main entrance so you can set off early in the morning. Then it is still wonderfully quiet, and you enjoy nature even more."

Some tips for your holiday at Camping Plitvice in Smoljanac

    • The campsite is located at the main entrance of the park. This is entrance number 1, on the north side. There’s also a parking lot here. Choose your route on arrival (the shortest takes about 2.5 hours) and take advantage of the included panoramic train ride and boat trip through the park. Put on good walking shoes and pack enough water, food, and sunscreen in your backpack. You're away from home for a while.
    • Tip: buy your entrance tickets for Plitvice National Park online in advance. From June to September, tickets cost about €40 for adults and €16 for children. Kids 7 and under can enter for free. Prices are lower in the off-season.
    • Combine nature with adventure. Book a rafting trip on the Korana, Mrežnica or Una rivers or go ziplining over the Korana gorge on the edge of the Plitvice Lakes.
    • Visit the stalactite cave of Barac, 14 kilometres from the campsite. Bring a jacket, because in the cave it’s only 9 degrees Celsius.
    • Heading out for a morning or afternoon? Tour the beautiful watermill village of Rastoke, a tiny settlement with old wooden houses and 23 Plitvice-like waterfalls that put the watermills to work. Flour is still ground here.
    • Want to go horseback riding, kayaking, paintballing, try archery, or fishing? Let the campsite reception organise your favourite outdoor activity for you.
    • Exploring the area by bike is also recommended. Choose from the many bike paths and routes nearby. You can rent bicycles at the campsite.
