You’ll find one of Europe’s most imposing and unique nature parks, just under an hour’s drive from Camping 2000 in the Giant Mountains of the Czech republic. The Bohemian Switzerland National Park. This fascinating area is made up of magnificent wet peat meadows, lush, green forests and a range of protected species of plants and animals, such as alpine deer grass, fire salamanders, pygmy owls and the black woodpecker.

The old town is rich in history, culture and architecture, with some fabulous sights, such as the Astronomical Clock and the famous Charles Bridge. Lovers of Gothic architecture head for Kutná Hora, about an hour east of Prague. Home to St. Barbara’s Church, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most famous Gothic churches in the Czech republic. This remarkable little town is most famous for the Sedlec Ossuary, better known as the bone church. This small chapel is decorated with the bones and skulls of some 70,000 people who died during the Black Plague in the 14th century.

Set by the banks of the Lusatian Neisse river and surrounded by the Jizera Mountains, Liberec, the Czech republic’s 5th city is a marvelously relaxed affair, with tree lined streets full of old mansions, beautiful botanic gardens and some fantastic museums, such as the Art Museum of North Bohemia and the Ferdinand Porsche museum.
