Some tips for your holiday at Camping Le Soleil Vivarais in Sampzon

    • This is an experience from your bucket list: canoeing in the Gorges de l’Ardèche, on the turquoise water amongst the eroded rock walls. A wonderful paddle tour that includes passing the Pont d'Arc. This famous arch sculpted by nature looks like a secret temple gate in the river. Take a selfie.
    • And after your canoe journey? How about a well-deserved drink in the quaint tourist village of Vallon Pont d'Arc. In the small medieval center you’ll find terraces, stores, squares, pizzerias, restaurants, you name it. On Thursdays you can visit the market.
    • The Ardèche is the country of caves. Grotte Chauvet is a prehistoric treasure trove with 30,000-year-old wall paintings. To protect the original cave, a copy was built: Grotte Chauvet 2. Just like at Lascaux in the Dordogne. A must-see.
    • Do you fancy another geological attraction? In the cave of Aven d’Orgnac you descend into spectacular chambers and corridors, up to 120 meters deep. Once you’re back in daylight, a picnic in the botanical garden is a good idea.
    • Adventures can try out nearly all dangerous sports in the Ardèche. Zip lining, canyoning, rafting and speleology… Thanks to the professional and safe supervision of your outdoor company you’ll return home without a scratch.
    • This is also nice: visiting the market. Here you can buy regional products, such as goat cheese, wine, fruit and organic delicacies. On the markets in Largentière, Les Vans, Vallon Pont d’Arc, Sampzon and Ruoms you can stroll along the colorful stalls with greedy eyes. What's more fun than returning to the campsite with a bag full of delicious food?
    • An awfully fun day trip for the kids: The crocodile farm of Pierrelatte. Besides crocodiles you can also admire giant turtles and all kinds of cool play equipment in the large outdoor playground. Another successful day!
    • People that love old French villages should visit Balazuc. Perched high on the cliffs by the river, this ancient village charms you with houses that are partly overgrown with greenery, stone winding streets, a Romanesque church and a 12-year-old tower where often concerts take place.
