Camping Club La Côte Sauvage

    Some tips for your holiday at Camping Club La Côte Sauvage in Les Mathes

    • From the campground, you'll take beautiful bike tours. Cycle or walk through the Coubre forest and, as a highlight, climb the Coubre lighthouse. Here you can look out for miles over the wooded countryside and the ocean.
    • Drive 8 minutes to La Palmyre Zoo and see tigers, sea lions and polar bears and more special animal species.
    • Visit the seaside town of Royan. Walk along the promenade and wander into small shops. Go back to prehistoric times and take the kids to Planet Exotica dinosaur park.
    • Within an hour you’re on the island of Ile d'Oleron. Check out Fort Louvois, la citadelle du Château d'Oléron and Fort Boyard. End the day on one of the golden beaches the island is known for.
    • Another thing not to miss is La Rochelle, the region's capital. Learn more about its history by bicycle and book a bike tour. See the historic buildings, narrow streets, the fresh produce market, little ports, cosy restaurants, and an aquarium with Nemo fish.
