• If you like a lively ambiance you will feel completely at home here. The entertainment team organises activities for all ages. There is even a large indoor theatre with seating for up to 900 people. The evening shows are very popular.
• The water park consists of two beautiful outdoor swimming pools with a seperate section for waterslides and an indoor pool. Comfortable sunbeds are everywhere.
• If you want to be more active, Les Charmettes offers a wide range of sports activities: tennis court, gym, multi-sports area, mini golf, bowling alley and archery.

The surrounding area of Les Charmettes

Les Charmettes is located in Les Mathes in the Charente-Maritime area, very close to the seaside resort of La Palmyre. Here it is all about beach life. Children can safely splash around in the sheltered bay. You will also find many other beaches nearby. Cote Sauvage is a popular spot for surfers. You should also drive to the the stunning beach at Saint-Palais-sur-Mer where you can see the famous Renaissance Cordouan Lighthouse. It is set in the middle of the sea!

Some tips for your holiday at Les Charmettes in Les Mathes

• La Palmyre Zoo is a great zoo, just 5km from the campsite. There are more than 1,600 animals housed there, from small and cute to large and dangerous. The giraffes will eat right out of your hand.
• Just around the corner is Luan Park, a carnival of crazy attractions. Daredevils take note! If you would rather keep both feet on the ground, you can still enjoy the spectacular fireworks show.
• The bustling fishing port of Royan, capital of the Cote de Beaute is a lovely spot. If you go in late July then you can be a free spectator of the renowned classical music festival on the beach.
• Another must-see is the historical coastal town of La Rochelle. The old harbour, Vieux Port, and the sturdy fortress make you will feel as if you are in the middle ages. The centre is a maze of cosy streets lined with boutiques.
• Tip for kids: The sea aquarium, also in La Rochelle, is one of the best and biggest in France.
• Jump in the car for a day of island hopping. Drive over the bridge at La Rochelle to Ile de Re or enjoy the maritime experience at Ile Oleron. You can also take a boat trip to Fort Boyard.
