Some tips for your holiday at Camping L’Anse du Brick in Maupertus-sur-Mer

    • The beach near the campground is the big attraction. Be sure to check where you unfold your beach towel. At low tide the beach is wonderfully wide, but at high tide the water swallows half the inlet. But nearby you’ll find several other beautiful beaches. You can always go to the sea.
    • The most famous beach is 60 km away. Utah Beach is one of the beaches where the allies started their invasion on the 6th of June in 1944. Are you a history lover? Go back in time in the Musée du Débarquement on Utah Beach itself and in the Musée de la Liberation in Cherbourg.
    • For the hikers: the famous G223 route, or sentier des douaniers, passes the campsite. An excellent opportunity to complete a leg of this historic hike.
    • Wave goodbye to the hectic pace of everyday life on the small island of Tatihou. This nature and bird sanctuary is home to 150 different species of breeding and migratory birds. From the lighthouse you’ll have a beautiful view.
    • This one is fun for the kids: Cité de la Mer in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin. This museum/aquarium offers a unique look at marine life. The city itself is also beautiful, with fine architecture, several museums and a lively harbour.
    • You have to drive a bit (2 hours) to get to the miracle of Normandy, the Mont-Saint-Michel. But you’ll get an unforgettable experience in return.
    • How about a daytrip to the United Kingdom? You’re closer than you think. The ferry takes you to the Channel Island of Guernsey in about two hours. The harbour in the capital Saint Peter is, according to experts, one of the most beautiful in Europe.
