Camping Terra Verdon

The Terra Verdon campsite is beautifully located. Right in the middle of the wonderful Provençal hills, 750 metres high, surrounded by greenery and just 1,5 kilometres from the historical village of Castellane. The sun shines all the time in the summer in this gorgeously lush region. It’s perfect for relaxing by the pool, while your kids romp around the campsite.

The surrounding of Camping Terra Verdon

The Terra Verdon campsite is located 1.5 kilometres from Castellane, a small place on one of the most beautiful parts of the Route Napoleon (N85). Napoleon came this way after escaping from the island of Elba, just off the coast of Nice. Well he had great taste. Here Provence is at its best: rugged mountains, wild rivers and old towns which seem to be stuck to the rock faces in the most impossible places. Take a deep breath…..yes that’s the smell of lush and sunny Provence!

Some tips for your holiday at Camping Terra Verdon in Castellane

  • To the west of Castellane, the Verdon river has cut out the well-known 'gorges' and this Grand Canyon du Verdon is known as one of the most imposing parts of France. The lake of Ste.Croix, at the end of the canyon, is just as beautiful. A must do: go canoeing on its stunning turquoise waters.
  • Going in the other direction? The drop by the wonderful Col de la Faye. When the weather is clear you can even see the Mediterranean glistening in the distance from here.
  • Fancy a swim? The Lac de Castillon lake is a delightful spot and just a 10 minute drive away.
  • There’s more here than just the stunning surroundings, full of lush greenery and azure blue waters. There’s plenty to do for kids as well. Head for the ski resort of Valberg. No need to bring your skis because you’ll be jumping on a horse or a summer sledge! Alternatively go canyoning, climbing, hiking and fishing.
