Description of the campsite
Ellen et Ronald welcome you to Camping de La Belle Etoile in Château Saint Bonnet, in the heart of the Rhône Alpes Auvergne region. Camping 54 pitches is equipped with a pool, tennis, playground, 200 m from a small (fishing) lake and a 10 minute walk to the village.
Whether you choose a cosy mobile home, an adventurous safari tent or a charming camping pitch, our campsite is the perfect place for families to create unforgettable holiday memories. In the surrounding area you'll find everything you need — from cultural outings and beautiful walking trails to fun activities and handy shops.
During the high season, we offer a cheerful, small-scale entertainment programme. And for the sporty ones among you, there's plenty to do: a treetop adventure park, a riding centre, archery lessons, orienteering routes and even a bit of geocaching.
Fancy discovering the region in a unique way? Hop aboard the tourist train of the Haute Forez and let it carry you through the landscape!
To explore the surroundings of St. Bonnet le Château, you can follow the tourist "route des balcons" and take your time to stroll through the picturesque streets of the three villages de caractère in the Loire: Marols, Montarcher, or Saint-Bonnet-le-Château. Two museums, awarded the Museum of France label, will also allow you to explore more recent history, the 19th and 20th centuries. The Museum of 20th Century History - Resistance and Deportation, will immerse you in the events of the previous century and the battles of the August 1944 liberation, while the Museum of the Forez Mountains reveals local traditions. A visit to Obut, worldwide known for its pétanque balls, with a small museum, shop, and delightful restaurant with a terrace is highly recommended. Finally, a visit to the Moulin de Vignal in Apinac, a working mill, is a fun experience for both young and old.
