- In the valley of castles, history lovers will be over the moon. There’s an abundance of castles! Go to the Château de Blois or to the world-famous Château Fontainebleau, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- The city of Orléans is located about 50km from the campsite. The city, known for Joan of Arc, is a historical city which has a lot to offer. Walk past the Loire, visit the Cathédrale Saint-Croix or discover the city centre.
- If you crave some peace and quiet, then the Arboretum des Grandes Bruyères is the place to be. In this oasis of tranquillity, you are surrounded by flora and fauna, and you can admire the many varieties of flowers.
- If you want to stay closer to the campsite, but you still want to go on a trip, then the Musée Departemental de la Résistance et la Déportation would be a good option. This small WWII museum offers a special experience.
- You shouldn’t skip the city of Bourges either. Walk through the picturesque little streets to admire the beautiful, historical buildings in this city. Visit the Cathédrale de Saint-Étienne, among the most beautiful cathedrals of Europe, which is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the cathedral, the leaded glass windows tell the stories beautifully.
- And then there is another monument which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site: Abbaye de fleury. Some buildings of this abbey, which is more than thousand years old, are built in Roman architecture. This region has an abundance of UNESCO monuments, and it would be a shame to skip this one!
- If you like local pretty villages, then Yèvre-le-Châtel is worth a visit. This village appears on the list of ‘les plus Beaux Villages de France’ ; the most beautiful villages of France. That says it all, right?
