- Feel like a day out at the seaside? The lovely beaches of the Vendee are just a 10 minute drive away. Les Sables-d'Olonne is well worth a visit.
- Hire a bike and explore the beautiful coastline near the campsite. Follow the bike path from Bretignolles and cycle past winding wide rivers and tranquil woods.
- Visit the charming town of Challans just 25 km away. It’s the duck capital of France. Stop at one of its excellent restaurants for a tasty Canard de Challans.
- For a really special day out take the ferry from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie to the beautiful little island of Île d'Yeu, full of soft sandy beaches, dunes and lush, green pine forests. Do some shopping by the harbour, then enjoy the freshest of fish at one of its pleasant waterside restaurants.
