Great week at Camping Saarburg. Beautiful campsite with loads of space and in an area where there was so much to do. We loved our week, thank you.

    Area tip

Visit Saarschleife and do a forest walk or swim in Losheim am See. Cycling along the river Saar, take the train to Freibad in Saarburg and visit its castle and waterfall.

Lovely campsite setting, accommodation clean but no sun loungers with the Waikiki chalet. It would have been nice to have an outside pool and to have music playing outside whilst enjoying a dink in the evening where the entertainment was set up (no evening entertainment whilst we stayed 24/06 - 01/07). Overall though I would recommend this campsite for families especially.

We love this campsite and have been a number of times. Beautiful setting above a beautiful town. Can not wait to go again. The site is very clean and has the best toilet/shower facilities that we have experienced. Here is lots to do in the local area. Can not recommend it enough.

    Area tip

Walk down to the town through the vineyards and then get to cable car back to the site. Take a trip along the Moselle Valley to the beautiful town of Bernkastel-Kues. Visit Trier lots to see and do.

Some tips for your holiday at Camping Warsberg in Saarburg

  • The centre of Saarburg is accessible via a cable car, which descends nearly 200 metres (and hopefully takes you back up again). Saarburg is a very pleasant town, with an impressive ruined castle and a twenty metre high waterfall.
  • Great for kids: the summer toboggan run in Saarburg. A high speed track down a hillside.
  • Take a trip to the old city of Trier, situated on the banks of the Moselle. This was once a bastion of the Roman Empire, and luckily there are still many artifacts to be seen today. The famous Porta Nigra is a fine Roman building in good condition and is one of the four original Trier city gates.
  • The wine villages of the Moselle region are on your doorstep here. Just hop into your car and enjoy the scenic 1-hour drive to Bernkastel-Kues, an historic tourist resort surrounded by vineyards.
  • Nearest airport: Cologne-Bonn (CGN) at 200 km
  • Train station: 4 km
  • Bus station: 4,5 km
  • Area: hilly and terraced
  • Nearest city/village: 3,5 km
  • Nearest river: at 3,5 km from the the river
  • Supermarket: 3,5 km
  • Cabin lift: 10 m
