Description of the campsite

Toscana Village is about 50.000 m2 and it offers space enough for spending a confortable and relaxing stay. Our 135 places are quite big (70-10 m2) and the 37 mobile homes with private garden are located in order to offer our guests privacy and confort. The geographical position of Toscana Village, in the heart of Tuscany close to the main cities of art such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Siena, makes the Village a good starting point for your daily excutions. We are not faraway from the seaside, therefore many guests use our campsite as a starting point for visiting the main Tuscan beaches. Camping Toscana Village is also an interesting place for a pleasant stay in the rolling Tuscan hills, it is situated on a hill in the valley of the Arno river in a mixed grove of cypresses and pines.

MONTOPOLI IN VAL D'ARNO, in the heart of Tuscany
Montopoli is of medieval origins, even if traces of Etruscan and Roman sites have been found within its territory. Lucca, Pisa and Florence fought over Montopoli for a long time.
The famous Italian writer Boccaccio called it _famous castle_. The remains of its towers and ancient fortifications are evidence of its past as a military outpost. The Tower of San Matteo, the arch of Castruccio, and the remains of the fortress, which is also a beautiful lookout point, are all worth a visit. But the beauty of Montopoli lies in its position, in the heart of the beautiful Tuscan landscape, with its hills, villas and villages that follow the river Arno. Nowadays Montopoli, besides its natural beauty and historical sites, is also of interest for its resources in agriculture, arts and crafts and traditional industries.

Festivals and Fairs
Every second Sunday in September a wonderful festival is held in Montopoli. This festival includes medieval costumes, the traditional archery challenge among the rioni (quarters) and the performance of traditional medieval arts in the streets of the village.

How to get to Monopoli by car : Take the highway called “FI-PI-LI” (Firenze-Pisa-Livorno), either from the A1 (Autostrada del Sole) at the exit Firenze-Scandicci or from the A12 (Autostrada Genova-Livorno) at the exit Pisa Centro. Go out from the FI-PI-LI at the exit Montopoli in Val d'Arno, then go towards Montopoli village until you find via Masoria on your left side and after that via Fornoli, where you will find the campsite. Look at the map. How to get to Montopoli by train : Get off at the station of Montopoli, on the railway line Firenze-Livorno. The campsite is 2.4 km from the station. A shuttle service to the campsite will be provided on request.
