    Some tips for your holiday at Camping Il Poggetto in Troghi

    • A magnificent world full of culture and art awaits you in the city of Florence ( 19km). Stroll through the historical centre and visit the Uffizi Art Gallery and the Accademia museum filled with priceless works by Michelangelo, Botticelli and Leonardo da Vinci. Admire the splendour of the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore and don’t forget to drop into the fabulous Pitti Palace, the former Medici family’s residence.
    • Wine lovers are in heaven here. This is Chianti country! Spend a lovely day at the Torre a Cona wine estate in Rignano sull’Arno. It’s so close you can bike there (7km)! Taste the delicious wines on offer and bring back a few bottles to enjoy at the campsite.
    • Made famous by Roberto Benigni's Oscar-winning film La Vita è Bella Arezzo (59km) is as Tuscan as it gets. Wander the ancient, narrow streets of the old part of town and you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. Then head for the cosmopolitan new part to enjoy designer shopping and some of the best Tuscan food you’ll ever taste!
    • A little further afield, but well worth the visit is Siena ( 84km). This romantic town with many medieval buildings is considered to be the most beautiful in Italy. Amble around the enormous Piazza Del Campo square, visit the magnificent Gothic Duomo of Siena and Climb to the Top of Torre del Mangia for a stunning view. In July & August the famous Palio horse race is a must see!
    • Fancy a day out close to the campsite? Then head for the Sammezzano Castle just 7km away. Stroll through its delightful large park to see the unique botanical gardens, Then admire the interior of the castle with its 365 rooms. Each decorated differently to represent a day of the year.
    • For a fun day out for all the family head to the Museum of Rural Life in Gaville (20km). Learn all about traditional Tuscan farming methods and the cultivation of typical local products such as wheat, oil and wine, as well as fun domestic activities like weaving and spinning;
    • Want to shop ‘til you drop? Then head for the Mall Firenze in Leccio 8km from the campsite. Valentino, Versace and Cavalli all await you, but then at outlet prices! The perfect place for a little retail therapy.
