Camping Capitello is a small family campsite located by on the banks of the Tiber, in the middle of the green hills of Lazio and Umbria. It's a special spot you'll want to keep secret: with peace and quiet, lots of space, a beautiful lagoon pool and extremely hospitable owners.You'll be welcomed in the typically Italian way. With open arms!

    Some tips for your holiday at Camping Capitello in Otricoli

    • Rome is just an hour away by car. The alternative is even more relaxing. Hop on the train in Orte just 20 minutes away from the campsite and it'll take you to Roma Termini. station.The Colosseum, Spanish steps, Pantheon and Trevi fountain await you, just a lovely stroll away.
    • Tip;tour the breathtakingly beautiful countryside of Umbria. Admire the stunning views and then stop at a fattoria to buy some lentils. Apparently they're the best in the world here!
    • The Cascata delle Marmore waterfall is another unforgettable place. This man made waterfall is linked to a reservoir and can be turned 'on' & 'off '. See the water tumble down onto the rocks from 165 metres high. The magnificent surrounding countryside makes this sight even more spectacular. One for the photo album!
    • A real treat for kids up to around 11 years old. Amusement park Leolandia in San Liberato di Narni. This brand new, fairytale like park opens its door to the public in 2020. We'll keep you posted!
    • Lovers of antiquities can head for the archaeology park, just 5 minutes from the campsite, to admire the ruins of an amphitheatre, bathhouse and crypt.
    • Fancy visiting some delightful little towns? The popular Orvieto, Spoleto, Amelia en Bomarzo welcome you with their cosy, narrow streets and plenty of photo opportunities. A little further afield ( 1.5 hours) lies Assisi, the best preserved medieval town in Italy and a pilgrimage shrine to Saint Francis.
