Want to camp by one of Portugal’s finest beaches? In a luxury accommodation in the shade of a pine forest? At a campsite with a swimming pool, restaurant, entertainment and a fun playground for the kids? Well here it is! Bem vindo (Welcome in Portuguese) to camping Ohai Nazaré Outdoor Resorts.

  • Get ready for a splashing good time here. While you dive into the lovely swimming pool or relax in the covered jacuzzi, the kids have a blast whizzing down the 5 slides in the giant water playground. The little ones have their own safe, fun kids pool with water games.
  • Fancy a day by the sea? There are two great beaches within 4 km of the campsite. Praia de Nazaré with its bustling boulevard and the surfer’s paradise of Praia do Norte.
  • The beach is the main theme here. Even the playground has a soft sand bottom. It’s actually a huge sand pit with playing equipment.
  • While your kids play table tennis or whizz down a zipline, you can also have a sporty holiday. Go for a work-out in the fitness area or play a ‘Padel’ tournament, it’s a combination of tennis and squash. Alternatively head off for a family bike ride!
  • The traditional fishing village of Nazaré is nearby, with its colourful fishing boats which decorate the beach. Enjoy the exquisite local cuisine at one of the many excellent restaurants with outside terrace.
  • Don’t want to leave the campsite for a bite to eat? No problem. The campsite restaurant serves delicious Portuguese and International dishes.
  • Wow have you seen those spacious safari tents? Really luxurious and stylishly positioned on a hill under cooling pine trees. The mobile homes are wonderful too, making life really comfortable.

Some tips for your holiday at Camping Ohai Nazaré Outdoor Resorts in Nazaré

  • Fun: take a look around the market stalls on your day out at the beach in Nazaré. Women in traditional fishing wives costumes sell fresh fish, dried fruit and nuts..
  • The main attraction in the area are the cliffs of Sítio. Climb the 110 metres from Nazaré to the top or relax and let the cable car ferry you upwards. From the Miradouro do Suberco lookout point you have an amazing view out to sea!
  • While you’re up there pay a visit to the Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Nazaré church and the Ermida da Memória. The chapel is almost completely covered on the inside with Portuguese ‘azulejos’ tiles. Wander a little further from Sítio and you’ll find the fort of São Miguel Arcanjo and its lighthouse.
  • Water babies brave the waves at Praia do Norte. The campsite can organise professional surfing lessons for kids aged 8 years and older. Who’s up for it?
  • Explore the old fortress town of Óbidos. You enter through the town gate with its plateau of tiles. Stroll down the narrow, cosy alleys, taste the local cherry liquor Ginja and admire the huge castle of Óbidos. Must do: stroll across the town walls and be rewarded with a most magnificent view!
  • The old monastery Mosteiro da Batalha steals the show in Batalha. It’s one of the most famous monuments and part of the Seven wonders of Portugal. kids want to romp around a bit after visiting the museum? Take them to Jardim do Lena and Jardim Dos Infantes. Both parks are around a 6 minute walk from the monastery.
  • Another such gorgeous building is the Mosteiro de Alcobaça. One of the seven wonders of Portugal. Inside you can see the tombs of the crown prince Don Pedro and his mistress. Tip: buy your ticket beforehand to avoid the queues for this world heritage masterpiece.
  • Nearest airport: Lisbon (LIS) at 130 km
  • Second nearest airport: Porto (OPO) at 223 km
  • Bus station: 50 m
