- Experienced surfer or brave beginner? Escuela Cantabra De Surf, one of the best surf schools in Spain, is located 1.5 kilometres from the campsite.
- Fans of a rougher natural spectacle have a front row seat. Cantabria is a popular hiking destination. Explore the nearby Peña Cabarga Nature Reserve, a mountainous region of razor-sharp rock pinnacles, red clay, and green vegetation.
- From height to depth? Cantabria is known for its cave complexes, such as the stalactite caves of El Soplao. Board the miner's train and descend into an underground fairytale world, an hour's drive from the campsite.
- Visit Santander, the bustling port city with a languid strolling area on the peninsula of La Magdalena. The eye-catcher is the old Palacia de la Magdalena royal palace, which is now a luxury hotel. Tip: leave the car and take the boat. There’s a ferry from Somo to Santander.
