Some tips for your holiday at Camping Poort van Maastricht in Berg en Terblijt

    • Maastricht is the most foreign city in the Netherlands. Ancient city walls, the bumpy streets with Maas boulders, Fort Sint-Pieter and the Casemates, the Maasboulevard, the rich gastronomic offering, chic boutiques and bustling squares, of which the Vrijthof (known for the André Rieu concerts) is perhaps the most beautiful in the Netherlands . One day is not enough. Fortunately, the park is nearby.
    • Top spot in the touristic Valkenburg: the marl caves, an ingenious system of corridors with a length of no less than 250 kilometres. Go underground with a guide and enter the unique Velvet Cave.
    • In the two-stream country of the meandering Geul and Gulp rivers, you’ll find the landscape elements that give South Limburg its unique character. The undulating hills, sunken roads with field crosses, orchards, white square farms, quiet country roads and church towers with rising spires everywhere. How many do you count?
    • Cycling fan? Fill your water bottle to the brim; in these parts you can climb and descend to your heart's content. Famous climbs such as the Cauberg, Bemelerberg and Keutenberg challenge you.
    • Recommended: a tour in the car. Open your window and enjoy the Mergelland route that takes you through the southernmost part of South Limburg. You pass picturesque villages such as Slenaken, Noorbeek and Eijsden. The terraces on the village squares are the ideal place for a pit stop.
    • At 322 metres above sea level, the Vaalserberg is the highest point in the Netherlands. Nearby you’ll find the Drielandenpunt where you can look out over the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany from the Wilhelminatoren tower.
