There are direct TGVs from Paris and Lille and direct sleeping trains from the major cities of France that will take you directly to Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
Then go from Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Arc 1600, use the funicular. He joined Arc 1600 in only 7 minutes.
