Camping in The Loire

A Camping holiday in The Loire

The Loire river valley is a truly wondrous place for a family camping holiday. It’s lush, fertile countryside is filled with extravagant palaces, sophisticated cities and picturesque villages. The vineyards are endless and the food fabulous. So much natural beauty, just a few hour’s drive from Paris. No wonder kings, queens, dukes and nobles flocked here to build their castles with glittering banquet halls and elaborate gardens. Their legacy is now one of the worlds’ finest Unesco World Heritage Sites for you to explore. France’s longest river runs through a modern day fairy tale, passing magnificent châteaux and the lively, sophisticated cities of Orléans, Blois, Tours, Saumur, Angers and Nantes. The Loire is also an outdoor lovers dream. Hike, bike, swim, canoe, kayak, go horse riding or fish in the river. Then settle down back at the campsite with a gorgeous glass of Pouilly-Fumé and watch the sun set on another perfect day!
